Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Pastry & Bakery Production:
- Oversee the preparation and production of all pastries, desserts, bread, and baked goods.
- Ensure the highest level of quality, taste, texture, and presentation.
- Innovate and develop new pastry items, seasonal menus, and signature desserts.
- Maintain consistency in portion control and minimize waste.
Kitchen Operations & Management:
- Supervise the pastry team, ensuring efficiency and organization in daily operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the pastry kitchen.
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for quality ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Train, mentor, and develop pastry team members.
- Assign tasks and oversee performance to ensure high-quality output.
- Foster creativity and a positive work environment within the team.
Collaboration & Guest Experience:
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team to create exceptional guest experiences.
- Customize pastry options for special events, banquets, and VIP guests.
- Receive and respond to guest feedback to improve pastry offerings.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a pastry kitchen, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in pastry techniques, chocolate work, sugar art, and bakery production.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a high-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and creativity.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
