Job summary

Cambridge Regional College is seeking a Pastoral Support & Student Liaison Manager to lead the Pastoral Support and Student Liaison teams across Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses. This full-time role (37 hours per week, full year) offers a competitive salary of £39,401 per annum plus staff benefits and a strong commitment to staff development.

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at least Grade C/4.
  • Level 3 or higher in Education, Youth Work, Social Work, Leadership & Management or related field.
  • Significant experience in leading teams and student services.

  • Drive staff performance, development, wellbeing and service delivery.

Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Pastoral Support & Student Liaison Manager to join our Student Services team at our Cambridge and Huntingdon Campuses.

You will join us on a full time (37 hours), full year basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £39,401 per annum, plus staff benefits.

About the role:

The primary purpose of this job role is to provide operational leadership and management of the Pastoral Support and Student Liaison teams across both campuses, ensuring a consistent, responsive and student-centred approach. You will oversee staff performance, development and wellbeing within the Pastoral Support and Student Liaison teams, ensuring high standards of service delivery, accountability and a consistent high level of student experience.

The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to:
  • Manage and lead the Pastoral Support Coordinator, Advisors, Student Liaison Coordinator and Officers, providing specialist knowledge to further develop the service and the implementation of new strategies and resources
  • Promote and embed effective pastoral student approaches, sharing best practice and supporting continuous improvement across the team
  • Oversee the delivery of pastoral support provision across the college, ensuring a consistent, student-centred approach and high standards of practice
What we are looking for in our role:
  • Good level of education, including GCSE in English and Maths (or equivalent level) minimum of Grade C/4
  • Educated to Level 3 or above in Education, Youth Work, Social Work, Leadership & Management or a related discipline
  • Substantial experience of managing and leading teams, including direct line management responsibility for recruitment, performance management, probation reviews, appraisals, supervision, attendance management and staff development
  • Significant experience working within student services, pastoral support, safeguarding, inclusion, welfare or a related support environment.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, student wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion practices
