Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. seeks a compassionate Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the Little Lever area of Bolton. You will provide individual pastoral and learning support, building trusting relationships and helping the child engage with learning throughout the day.

The role focuses on emotional wellbeing, regulation and brain breaks, with opportunities to work with the SEN team and class teacher. Long-term, full-time with potential to go permanent.

Qualifications

• Pastoral support or mentoring experience.
• Experience with SEN or learning support.
• Ability to support children's emotional wellbeing.
• Knowledge of emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Ability to build strong relationships with children who have faced difficulties.
• Experience providing structured brain breaks and regulation strategies.
• Ability to help learners overcome barriers to learning.

Pastoral Teaching Assistant - Emotional Wellbeing & Learning Support (SEMH)

Location: Leverhulme, Bolton

Salary: £95-£110 per day, dependent on experience

Contract: Long-term, full-time, with potential for a permanent position

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the Little Lever area of Bolton.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with experience in pastoral care, SEN, SEMH, or emotional wellbeing support who can combine nurturing pastoral support with helping a child engage successfully with their learning.

The child has experienced significant challenges and requires a consistent, trusted adult who can provide emotional support, encouragement and appropriate learning support throughout the school day.

The Role

• Supporting children to overcome barriers to learning.You will need to be:

• Able to build trust while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Confident balancing pastoral support with learning expectations.

This is initially a long-term role with the potential to become permanent.

The school would be particularly interested in hearing from experienced pastoral practitioners, teaching assistants, learning mentors or SEN professionals who feel they could make a genuine difference to this child.
