Job summary

Wittering Primary School is seeking a part-time Pastoral Support Officer to play a vital role in supporting pastoral provision across the school and wider community, with a focus on safeguarding and attendance.

The role requires 25 hours per week with duties including Deputy Safeguarding Lead responsibilities, Early Help Team participation, and liaison with external agencies to support pupils and families. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding or pastoral work within a school environment.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities with precise record keeping.
• Confident communication with children, families and professionals and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support safeguarding and child protection matters
• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for the School
• Be a member of the Early Help Team
• Liaise with external agencies and attend meetings as required
• Provide bespoke educational and pastoral support to pupils
• Monitor attendance, identify concerns and implement early intervention
