Job summary

Horizon Teachers is seeking a caring, resilient Pastoral Officer to join a well-regarded secondary school in Ashford, Surrey on a part-time basis. This role focuses on supporting students’ wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and engagement, working closely with the pastoral team.

You'll work three days a week (Wednesday to Friday), liaising with parents, form tutors and staff, and you'll need an Enhanced DBS check. A QTS or equivalent is preferred for teaching roles within the school.

Qualifications

• Has experience in a pastoral, behaviour support, or student welfare role, ideally in a secondary school.
• Is confident managing challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Builds positive relationships quickly with students, families and staff.
• Is organised, reliable, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to obtain one).

The role:

Pastoral Officer, secondary school setting

Part-time, 3 days a week (Wednesday to Friday)

Supporting students with wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and engagement

Liaising with parents/carers, form tutors and the wider pastoral team

Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience

We're looking for someone who:
