Job summary

Ormiston Six Villages is seeking a proactive Pastoral Leader to join our Behaviour and Safeguarding team. The role supports the deputy designated safeguarding lead and helps maintain high standards of behaviour, including On Call, with a focus on vulnerable students and attendance through home visits and mentoring.

The successful candidate will be a resilient, well-organised team player with safeguarding knowledge; full training can be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral support or safeguarding roles.
• Knowledge of multi-agency safeguarding practices.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Pastoral Leader to join our dedicated and collaborative Behaviour and Safeguarding team who jointly execute the role of deputy designated safeguarding lead, under the direction of the team lead. Our pastoral leaders also play an active role in maintaining high standards of behaviour, including supporting ‘On Call’, helping students who are most vulnerable to suspension to reflect on their behaviour through structured conversation and intervention as required. They also work with families to support good attendance through home visits and targeted mentoring.

To succeed in this role you will be a proactive team player, able to demonstrate resilience, be well‑organised and able to keep accurate records. You will have knowledge of best practice in safeguarding, ELSA training and an understanding of multi‑agency working; however, full training can be provided for the right applicant.
