Job summary

Maghull High School is seeking a Pastoral Assistant Head of Year to join our pastoral team. You will work with the Head of Year and Tutors to support students’ progress and may supervise a prepared lesson when a class teacher is absent, ensuring learning continues.

The post is term-time only, 34 hours per week, with a pro-rata salary of £29,542 to £33,119. You should be versatile, flexible and have experience of working with children and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children.
• Versatile and flexible with good interpersonal skills.
• Probationary period of 6 months.
• QTS not required, but welcome for applicants who have it.

Responsibilities

• Support the Pastoral Support Team for a year group, working with the Head of Year and Tutors to monitor student progress.
• supervise a prepared lesson in the absence of a class teacher to maintain continuity of learning.
• Contribute to safeguarding and student welfare as part of the pastoral team.
