Job summary

St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust in Ilkeston is recruiting for a role that supports pupils' attendance, wellbeing, and safeguarding. You will monitor attendance and punctuality, build trusted relationships with pupils and families, and work with external agencies to improve outcomes.

You will also deliver high‑quality class cover within the primary age range, promote inclusion and the Catholic ethos, and contribute to pupils' personal development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality class cover across the primary range, maintaining learning continuity.
  • Promote inclusion and uphold the Catholic ethos while supporting pupils' development.

Job description

  • Drive positive attendance outcomes by monitoring attendance and punctuality, identifying concerns early, and working closely with pupils, families, and external agencies to improve school attendance.
  • Provide pastoral care and wellbeing support through building trusted relationships, delivering interventions, and helping pupils overcome emotional, social, and behavioural challenges.
  • Champion safeguarding and pupil welfare by recognising concerns, following safeguarding procedures, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to multi‑agency support where needed.
  • Deliver high‑quality class cover across the primary age range, maintaining positive learning environments, supporting pupil engagement, and ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Work collaboratively within the school community to promote inclusion, uphold the Catholic ethos of the school, support pupils' personal development, and contribute to their overall success and wellbeing.
