Nottingham City Council is seeking a supervisor for Passenger Transport Services to oversee a team of drivers and passenger assistants delivering safe, high‑quality, accessible travel across the city. You will plan routes, monitor compliance with transport legislation, conduct safety checks, and maintain records.

The role requires a D1 license and supervisory experience. We offer onsite work at Bilborough with a starting salary of £32,597 rising to £35,412, plus generous benefits and a potential

Working Hours: Consists of shift patterns which inclue the following: Monday to Thursday of 06:30 - 14:30 and Friday 06:30-14:00 and Monday to Thursday 10:30-18:00 and Friday 11:00-18:00

Salary: Starting Salary is £32,597 (Level one) rising to £35,412 ‘pro rata for part-time’ pay award pending

About The Role

Passenger Transport Services manages travel for Children and Vulnerable adults across the city, this is rewarding role is to supervise a team of Drivers and Passenger Assistants to deliver safe, high quality, accessible travel.

This role will be responsible for planning and allocating routes, and promoting good client and passenger relations to high standards of operational satisfaction.

responsibilities include: ensuring all legal, statutory and council provisions relating to operation activity are complied with, and that all drivers are aware of their driving roles and responsibilities and safety checks on vehicles are performed.

This role will carry out audits and check all passenger transport activities and ensure all records are maintained in line with transport legislation and council transport requirements

Ensuring all health and safety risk assessments are carried out are up to date to carry out all necessary investigations to ensure compliance with all relevant requirements for the service areas, such as safeguarding, and legislations, and that all legal, statutory and council provisions relating to operational activity are complied with.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Full driving license and hold a minimum of a D1 driving license with a D desirable
  • Supervisory experience of transport related operations and people.
  • Experience of monitoring, checking and compliance in relation to transport operations, Health and Safety, and safeguarding
  • Knowledge of passenger transport legislation in relation to operating a fleet of minibuses and High Dependency vehicles.
  • This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role
  • A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
  • The role requires you to participate in the on call rota.
