Job summary

Park's Motor Group in Edinburgh is seeking a Parts Apprentice to join our busy parts department. You will advise customers, order parts, and update our computer systems.

This role offers hands-on training with Remit Ltd and a pathway into automotive parts, with benefits including the Company Pension Scheme and car purchase discounts. You will work in a supportive team within a BMW dealership.

Responsibilities

• Assist in goods inwards and locate vehicle parts within the Parts Department
• Process orders, arrange returns and handle customer queries face to face or over the phone
• Maintain stock levels and pick parts from stock
• Raise invoices and handle cash for sold parts
• Maintain an organised stock room and correct bin locations
• Liaise with staff across departments to locate parts and advise customers

Park's Motor Group is searching for a talented individual to join their team as a Parts Apprentice. You will be based within our highly successful parts department within our dealership in Edinburgh. You will give customer advice, order required parts, components or accessories and update computer systems.

Skills You Will Learn

• Dealing with goods inwards, locating vehicle parts within the Parts Department (bin locations)
• Rectifying orders, arranging returns, dealing with customers both internal and external, this could also be over the phone or face to face
• Maintaining stock levels through electronic means and locating parts from the stock (picking)
• Raising invoices and cash handling for parts that are sold
• Deal with Incoming stock to correct bin locations
• Identify vehicle parts or customers/orders from a wide range of vehicle parts and accessories, Customers can include members of the public, service departments of dealerships and garages
• Maintaining an ordered stock room and finding parts from the stock
• Raising invoices for parts that are sold
• Liaising with other members of staff

Qualifications / Qualities

The successful applicant will be confident, self-motivated and keen to work as part of a team. Having an interest in working in the automotive and engineering industries and inquisitive nature and a desire to fix things are just as important as academic achievements.

Our Apprentice Training Provider, Remit Ltd, will carry out initial Assessments and interviews.
