Ideas | People | Trust

We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world.

We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.

We’ll broaden your horizons

The Partner Office team, is responsible for partner HR and partner planning matters and supports the Executive Board with ad hoc projects.

We’ll help you succeed

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships.

You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working pro-actively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

The Partner Promotions Manager will lead the day-to-day operational delivery of the Partner Promotions Processes. The role ensures high-quality execution of the Partner Promotions processes, working with colleagues across the firm to ensure robust and compliant processes which deliver a positive candidate experience with appropriate rigour and confidentiality.

The role acts as the central point of coordination for partner promotions activity, driving continuous improvement, managing key stakeholder relationships, and ensuring successful delivery of annual and ad-hoc promotions cycles.

In this role you’ll:

This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the firm's partner promotions process from end to end, ensuring all activities are delivered efficiently, consistently and in line with governance requirements. The successful candidate acts as the central point of coordination throughout the annual promotions cycle, managing key milestones, communications, documentation and stakeholder engagement while maintaining robust controls, audit trails and process documentation. Working closely with senior stakeholders including the Executive Board, Partners, business leaders and HR teams, they provide expert guidance, support governance forums and ensure the integrity, fairness and compliance of the process.

A key aspect of the role is delivering an excellent candidate experience and driving continuous improvement. This includes ensuring clear and timely communication with promotion candidates, gathering feedback and identifying opportunities to enhance transparency, efficiency and engagement. The role also requires strong analytical skills to produce meaningful reporting, monitor key metrics and provide insights that support decision-making and process enhancement. Alongside managing day-to-day operations, the individual will lead or support change initiatives, implement lessons learned and share best practice to strengthen partner operations and the overall partner lifecycle experience across the firm.

You’ll be someone with:
  • Significant experience managing complex people, promotions or governance processes.
  • Strong programme and operational management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience working with senior leaders and partners in a professional services environment.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong organisational, planning and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.

At BDO, we’ll help you achieve your personal goals and career ambitions, and we have programmes, resources, and frameworks that provide clarity and structure around career development.
