Job summary

Peabody is seeking a part-time Sleep-in Support Worker for its Young People’s Services in Stevenage. You will support young people aged 16-25 to build skills, confidence and independence, helping them overcome barriers such as homelessness, mental health challenges and social exclusion.

Responsibilities include needs assessments, developing and reviewing support plans, and assisting with daily living tasks while liaising with external agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable people in the community or in a supported living setting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with young people and external partners.
• A compassionate, empathetic approach with a genuine desire to help people improve their lives.
• Confidence to work independently (including lone working) and as part of a team.
• Good IT literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
• Driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel between schemes.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred support to young people in supported housing.
• Conduct needs and risk assessments and develop/review support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and budgeting.
• Liaise with external agencies, attend meetings, and maintain accurate records.
• Support housing stability and explore future housing options for clients.
