Job summary

One Ashford Hospital is seeking a Ward Host to join its Catering team on a part-time basis of 16 hours per week. You will provide meals and refreshments, take orders, and communicate dietary needs to the kitchen and clinical teams on the inpatient ward and day surgery unit.

Reporting to the Patient Services Lead, you will ensure high-standard hospitality, support patient safety, and work flexibly to cover annual leave and sickness. DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK required.

• Has previous food handling, hospitality or customer service experience.
• Has good communication and customer service skills.
• Is friendly, reliable and able to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide meals, drinks and refreshments to patients and visitors.
• Take accurate food orders and communicate dietary requirements and allergies to the relevant teams.
• Ensure meals and refreshments are served correctly and to a high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness and follow kitchen and food service procedures.
• Work closely with nursing staff and chefs to support patient safety and experience.
• Complete relevant paperwork and daily tasks.

One Ashford Hospital | Part-Time | 16 hours per week

One Ashford Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, are looking for a friendly, caring and reliable Ward Host to join our Catering team on a part-time basis of 16 hours per week.

Please note: This is a 16 hours per week part-time position with no fixed shift patter. Working days and hours will vary according to the needs of the Ward and Catering team, including providing cover for annual leave and sickness.

Reporting to the Patient Services Lead, as the successful Ward Host you will play an important role in creating a welcoming experience for our patients by providing a high-quality food and hospitality service across our inpatient ward and day surgery unit. You will be responsible for taking food orders, preparing and serving food and refreshments and ensuring the patients' dietary requirements and allergies are accurately communicated to the kitchen and clinical teams.
