Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Trainee Health Screener to support diabetes eye screening in Surrey. The role is part-time (22.5 hours per week) with potential progression after the Health Screener Diploma.

You will travel to multiple screening venues across Surrey and provide compassionate patient care during the screening process. The successful candidate will be trained on the job and can expect a roadmap of career progression within the Diabetic Eye Screening

Qualifications

• Experience in a caring environment or hospital background is preferable but not essential.
• Good people skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Willingness to travel to Surrey area screening venues.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients are welcomed and comfortable throughout the screening process.
• Carry out the screening checklist and maintain a safe environment.
• Safely administer eye drops and take photographs of the back of the eye.
