Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting a Band 5 Theatre Operating Department Practitioner in Colchester, offering an ongoing part-time role with £21.00 hourly pay. You will act as scrub support for robotic, urology and vascular lists, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety while supporting the theatre team.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Operating Department Practice or equivalent.
• HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Act as a competent Scrub Practitioner for a range of surgical procedures, especially in robotic, urology, and vascular surgery lists.
• Prepare, check, and maintain surgical instruments, robotic equipment, consumables, and specialist devices required for procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures, anticipate requirements, and ensure the safe management of instruments and swabs.
• Deliver high-quality perioperative care, contributing to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Education
