Job summary

Woodlands Academy is seeking a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support a student with an Education, health and care plan (ECHP). The role is a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027, part-time (17.5 hours/week, term time only) with 3.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and how a Teaching Assistant supports learning.
• Ability to engage students and manage behaviour on a one-to-one or small-group basis using tailored strategies.
• Commitment to relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent, first aid) for ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Support educational, personal and social development of students under guidance of colleagues.
• Implement planned learning activities and teaching programmes; adapt activities as needed.
• Collaborate with academy staff to deliver educational experiences and promote inclusion.
