Job summary

St Augustine's of Canterbury RC Primary School in Burnley is seeking a confident Teaching Assistant Level 2B to join the team for 16.25 hours per week (Mon–Fri 8:40am–11:55am). The successful candidate will have NVQ level 2 or above and proven experience with children, with strong organisation, time management and communication skills to support the teacher within the class.

Qualifications

Plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups.
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
Provide short term cover for classes when the TA is normally assigned.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the teacher, implement structured learning activities for individuals and groups.
Monitor personal, social and emotional needs of pupils and develop positive relationships.
Assist in devising and monitoring pupil targets and inclusion programmes.
Produce classroom resources and undertake administrative tasks.
Provide short-term cover for classes and assist with planning and work experiences.
Support for the school, curriculum delivery and ICT use in learning activities.
