Do you want a role where you can make a real difference?
At Northern Healthcare, we believe that recovery is possible for everyone.
We’re looking for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our friendly team in Barrow-in-Furness, supporting adults with mental health needs to live as independently as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships, getting out and about, and helping people make the most of their day.
The role is Monday to Friday, 10am–3pm, making it ideal for someone looking for consistent daytime hours.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, no two days will be exactly the same. You’ll provide practical, emotional and person-centred support, helping the people we support achieve their goals and maintain their independence.
A key part of this role will be supporting people to get out into the community.
Sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference.
It could be accompanying someone to an appointment they've been worried about, helping someone try a new activity, going out for a coffee, encouraging someone to take part in an activity they've previously avoided, or simply being there to listen.
You’ll help the people we support to build confidence, develop independence and enjoy meaningful experiences.
You don’t necessarily need previous experience in mental health.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude and values.
Experience in mental health, care, support work or a similar environment is desirable, but we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.
At Northern Healthcare, people come first.
You’ll be joining an organisation that is passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling lives and providing our colleagues with the support they need to develop and succeed.
Everything We Do Is Guided By Our PROUD Values
If these values sound like you, we’d love to hear from you.
If you’re looking for a rewarding role where you can spend your days supporting people, getting out into the community, attending appointments and creating meaningful activities, this could be the opportunity for you.
Putting people first. Changing lives.
