Job summary

Northern Healthcare is recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker for our new flagship service in Knowsley. You will support adults on their recovery journey in a modern, purpose-built environment, developing living skills and promoting independence. Training starts day one with continuous development and progression opportunities.

The role offers a competitive hourly rate (£12.91) with enhanced overtime and a comprehensive benefits package as the service grows and evolves to meet client needs.

Qualifications

  • We’re looking for compassionate, reliable and committed individuals.
  • Experience in care, support work or mental health services, or a Health & Social Care Level 2/3 is desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; two satisfactory references covering the previous three years.
  • Ability to complete an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by Northern Healthcare).

Responsibilities

  • Develop everyday living skills for the people we support.
  • Prepare meals and cook independently.
  • Manage appointments and medication for individuals.
  • Maintain the home and assist with household tasks.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll Ideally Have
  • A caring, person‑centred approach
  • Experience in care, support work or mental health services, or a Level 2 or 3 Health & Social Care qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience supporting a family member, friend, or someone with additional needs is welcomed
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Two satisfactory references covering the previous three years
  • The ability to complete an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by Northern Healthcare)
