Job summary

Northern Healthcare is recruiting for a Mental Health Support Worker at our Roby Road flagship service in Knowsley. You will join a new team from day one to support adults on their recovery journey in a modern environment, delivering person-centred care with kindness and respect.

We offer competitive pay from £12.91 per hour, full training from day one, and clear career progression. You’ll work as part of a supportive team, gaining valuable experience in mental health support and service

Qualifications

  • Experience in care, support work or mental health services is desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to pass Enhanced DBS check (funded by employer).

Responsibilities

  • Help adults with mental health needs to develop daily living skills.
  • Assist with meal preparation and cooking.
  • Manage appointments and medications.
  • Support home maintenance and household tasks.
  • Encourage budgeting and money management.
  • Facilitate access to education, employment, volunteering and community activities.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing and recovery.
  • Provide person-centered support, with training provided.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for people who are compassionate, reliable and committed to making a positive difference.

You’ll ideally have:
  • A caring, person-centred approach
  • Experience in care, support work or mental health services, or a Level 2 or 3 Health & Social Care qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience supporting a family member, friend, or someone with additional needs is welcomed
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Two satisfactory references covering the previous three years
  • The ability to complete an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by Northern Healthcare)
