Job summary

Bield Housing and Care is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for the Kintail Gardens, Glasgow area. The role offers weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) with 12-hour blocks, supporting individuals in their own homes and helping them maintain independence and wellbeing.

You will be part of a compassionate team, receiving full induction and ongoing development, with training provided. The post emphasises person-centred care, safety, and building trusting relationships within the community.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently on a lone-working basis.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Willing to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within six months of starting employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care and support.

Hours of Work

20 hours per week

Weekend Role
  • 12-hour shifts

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred care and support, including:

  • Assisting with household tasks and daily living activities
  • Supporting individuals with personal care, including intimate personal care where required
  • Prompting and administering medication in line with procedures
  • Encouraging independence and helping individuals achieve their personal goals
  • Building positive relationships and providing emotional support
About You

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Can work independently and confidently on a lone-working basis
  • Have strong time management and organisational skills
  • Hold an SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or are willing to work towards this qualification
  • Are willing to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within six months of starting employment
