Job summary

Bastow Irwin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced part-time Service Charge accountant / Property Manager to join our Romford team. You will oversee rent and service charge management across residential blocks and mixed-use commercial properties, with duties spanning financial control, lease administration, and compliance.

The role requires autonomy, strong numerical skills, and familiarity with property management software.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence and car ownership.
• Ability to work autonomously with initiative and yet seek support when needed.
• Understanding of leasehold property accounting matters.
• Excellent communication skills and strong literacy/numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage rent and service charge collection, arrears recovery, and related notices.
• Organise insurance renewals, claims and contributions.
• Handle Section 20 consultations from start to finish.
• Maintain ledgers and provide regular statements to clients.
• Daily reconciliation of rents and data entry into PMS.
• Prepare service charge budgets and year-end service charge accounts.
