Job summary

The Part-Time Finance People is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to work part-time on-site in Warrington and surrounding areas. You will own day-to-day bookkeeping, manage VAT returns, credit control, and ledger management, delivering accurate financial records while supporting the finance team.

This self-employed, two-days-per-week role offers independence, a proactive approach, and opportunities to improve processes and controls, with the Financial Controller as key stakeholder.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior Bookkeeper.
• Strong experience preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Excellent credit control skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Proactive, hands-on approach.
• Ability to collaborate with Financial Controller.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping activities
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Manage credit control and cash collection
• Oversee inventory management
• Complete regular bank reconciliations
• Manage purchase and sales ledgers
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Support month-end processes
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, controls and efficiency
• Provide finance support to the Financial Controller
