Job summary

Lewisham College, recruited via The Supply Register, seeks a SEND Learning Support Worker to assist students aged 16-25 with complex needs, helping them access learning, gain independence and thrive in a supportive setting.

Hours are 26-35 per week, typically four to five days, with personal care responsibilities as required. Prior SEN/SEND or care experience is essential; BSL/Makaton is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience working within an SEN/SEND school environment.
• Experience in a care or support setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting individuals with additional needs.
• A strong work ethic and a flexible, can-do attitude.
• Experience using British Sign Language (BSL) or Makaton would be highly advantageous, although not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to students with ranging needs in and outside the classroom.
• Build positive relationships with students and promote independence.
• Support personal care as required and ensure a safe learning environment.
