Job summary

St Francis Catholic Primary School in Maldon, Essex, is seeking an enthusiastic SENCO to lead SEND provision across the school. The role involves coordinating EHCPs, annual reviews and working with external agencies to secure high-quality teaching and inclusive outcomes.

The successful candidate will provide clear guidance to staff, line manage support staff and drive targeted interventions while maintaining excellent communication with parents and professionals.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with experience of working with children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current procedures.
• Experience coordinating SEND provision, EHCPs, annual reviews and working with external agencies.
• Passion for inclusion and securing the best outcomes for every child.
• Ability to guide and support staff, promoting high-quality inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coordination of SEND across the school.
• Work with staff, pupils, parents and external professionals.
• Champion inclusion and ensure appropriate provision for all pupils.
• Line manage support staff and monitor interventions and progress.
• Lead staff training and develop colleagues' SEND knowledge.
