SANZA Teaching Agency is assisting a primary school in Havering to recruit an experienced SENCO. The role starts immediately and is full-time, with flexibility to consider 4 days for the right candidate. The school is a 3-form entry in Havering, near Elizabeth Line options, with onsite parking.

The SENCO will lead SEND across the school, coordinate EHCPs, and work with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure inclusive teaching and timely interventions.

Formación

• Experience as SENCO in a primary school is preferred.
• Ability to lead SEND provision and coordinate interventions.
• Strong collaboration with teachers, parents and external agencies.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and develop the school's SEND provision, ensuring inclusive practice across the school.
• Identify students with additional needs and coordinate appropriate interventions and support.
• Work in collaboration with teachers, teaching assistants, parents and external agencies.
• Create and oversee Education Plans and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Support and advise staff in adapting teaching and learning to meet the needs of students.
• Coordinate assessments and referrals to external specialists.
• Monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND interventions.
• Ensure reasonable adjustments are made to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Guide teaching assistants on effective strategies for supporting pupils with SEND.
• Help staff manage challenging behaviour and implement positive behaviour support strategies.
• Provide training and share best practice around inclusive teaching.
• Attend meetings with families to discuss concerns and agree on next steps.
• Help families understand assessment processes and access further support.
• Coordinate referrals for specialist assessments.
• Track, review and record progress of SEND students.
