Job summary

Barchester is seeking a passionate Second Chef to deliver fresh seasonal menus to support the Head Chef and enhance resident wellbeing in our care homes. You will work to hotel/restaurant standards while maintaining a warm, welcoming kitchen environment and HACCP compliance.

This part-time role (3 shifts per week: Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday, 7am-5pm; 30 hours) offers a balanced schedule and the opportunity to contribute to high-quality meals for residents and staff in a supportive,

Responsibilities

• Manage kitchen in Head Chef's absence
• Assist Head Chef in menu development
• Prepare high-quality, wholesome dishes using fresh produce
• Create a warm, efficient and fun kitchen environment
• Work within budget and controls
• Complete regular audits and stock control
