The City of Liverpool College is seeking a Science Technician to support Biology and Chemistry lessons, prepare and maintain laboratory resources, and ensure safety in the science laboratories. You will work closely with teachers to enable engaging practical sessions and assist with Physics resources as needed.

The role requires Level 3 qualifications or equivalent experience, strong laboratory skills, and a proactive approach to health and safety.

Qualifikationen

• Level 3 qualification or relevant industry experience.
• Specialist experience in laboratory techniques.
• Knowledge of Biology and Chemistry for wet lab working.
• Significant, proven experience in a lab related position, preferably in education.
• Detailed understanding of various levels of science.
• Excellent computer literacy – ability to use the College IT programs.
• Innovative, creative – a proven expert in the field of this role.
• Ability to design and test appropriate practical activities.
• High level of communication and interpersonal skills, effective team member.
• Ability to work accurately and reliably.
• Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety requirements relating to specialist areas.
• Understanding safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and vulnerable adults
• Ability to manage tight deadlines & conflicting priorities
• Positive personality – self-motivated, driven to achieve results
• Commitment to CPD

Aufgaben

• Contribute to mission and values of the College.
• Coordinate practical resources and facilities with staff.
• Update knowledge of national developments in science annually.
• Assist with preparing equipment and chemicals for lessons.
• Deliver practical catch-up sessions for small groups.
• Support delivery of science lessons and safety practices.
• Maintain stock records and order replacements as needed.
• Assist with transporting Physics resources between labs.
• Provide tutorial and practical activity support.
• Be approachable to students and staff in training environments.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment safely and efficiently.
• Carry out maintenance tasks on complex equipment as needed
