Job Description:

Your new company, Hays Education, is proudly working in partnership with an amazing secondary school seeking a science technician to join their team on a long-term basis starting after half-term. This is a part-time vacancy with anticipated working hours from 08:30 to 12:30, Monday to Thursday.

Your new role

As a science technician, you will work under the direction of the senior science technician and will be responsible for maintaining the science laboratory, preparation rooms, and equipment. Your duties will include:

• Preparation of science materials and equipment
• Assisting teaching staff with practical work sessions
• Undertaking safety checks and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Cleaning sinks, chemicals, study surfaces, and spillages of chemicals
• Arranging apparatus, worksheets, books, and aids for lessons
• Managing and replenishing stock as necessary

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working in a laboratory setting
• A fun, energetic, and passionate approach to working with children and science
• A current DBS or willingness to obtain one
