Job summary

The Primary First Trust's Federation of Barnehurst Schools in Northumberland Heath, Bexley, is seeking a reliable Premises Assistant to join the site team on a part-time basis. You will help keep buildings, grounds and facilities safe, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

Under Premises Manager, you will carry out general caretaking, cleaning, minor repairs, site security, grounds maintenance, and help set up rooms for lessons and events, with routine safety checks and on-site

Qualifications

• Practical, hands-on approach to physical tasks.
• Experience in caretaking, cleaning, portering, or maintenance.
• GCSE English and Maths (3/D or higher) or willingness to work toward.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Reliability, punctuality, and flexible on-call availability.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning and minor upkeep of buildings and grounds.
• Act as keyholder, open/secure site and support on-call rota.
• Maintain grounds including litter picking, gritting, and snow clearance.
• Set up/clear rooms and outdoor spaces for lessons and events, manage deliveries and stock.
• Carry out routine safety checks (fire alarms, water temp, equipment) and report hazards.
• Support contractors and visitors on site in line with safeguarding procedures.
