Job summary

Vertas is seeking a School Chef to lead the kitchen at All Hallows CE Primary, NG4 3JZ. You will run daily operations, prepare nutritious meals and ensure food safety and high-quality service, while working 26.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30–13:45, for 39.2 weeks per year.

The ideal candidate has school catering experience, strong leadership and organisational skills, and the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a School Chef or similar catering role in a school or commercial kitchen.
• Knowledge of food safety, allergens and health and safety requirements.
• Ability to lead a team and manage stock, orders and budget controls.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and serving high quality meals.
• Managing the day to day running of the kitchen.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety and health and safety legislation.
• Managing stock levels, ordering and budget controls.
• Leading and supporting kitchen colleagues.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
