Job summary

Chartwells, part of Compass Group UK&I, is hiring a Chef on a part-time basis (22.5 hours per week) to deliver high-quality food for education settings across the UK. The role includes menu updates, inventory oversight, and upholding brand standards.

The ideal candidate will hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ, a Food Hygiene certificate, and prior supervision experience. DBS and safeguarding checks apply. Flexible shift patterns and progression are available within Chartwells.

Qualifications

• Hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Hold a Food Hygiene certificate.
• Have experience supervising a team.
• Have experience in a similar Chef role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve our food services.
• Listen to customer feedback to improve services.
• Support creation of new menus and food concepts.
• Represent Chartwells and maintain a positive brand image.
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
