Job summary

Sodexo is hiring an Assistant Cook at Oasis Academy Temple in Manchester. This part-time, term-time position offers 30 hours per week across 39 weeks, with a permanent contract and hours Monday–Friday, 07:30–13:30.

The role focuses on preparing and serving nutritious school meals in a supportive kitchen environment. You'll work alongside the Cook Manager, follow recipes, maintain high food-safety standards and provide excellent service to students and staff.

Qualifications

• Hands-on cooking experience in catering, education, care or food service
• Ability to follow recipes, portion controls and standards
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety practices
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Positive, professional, and team-focused attitude

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals to students and staff
• Support breakfast, lunch and event catering as needed
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness
• Follow recipes, portions, and menu specifications
• Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and storage
• Deliver excellent customer service to students, staff and visitors
