Job summary

Lancing College Worthing invites applications for a Part-Time Groundsperson based at Lancing Prep Worthing to maintain lawns, borders, hedges and playing surfaces. The role involves significant lone working, planning workloads, and reporting to the Grounds and Garden Manager.

Responsibilities include operating mowing and grounds machinery, ensuring safety, and assisting with general upkeep of grounds. The position runs 22.5 hours per week: Tue, Thu and Fri, 7.30am–4.00pm, with a one-hour unpaid

Qualifications

• Experience using mowing and grounds machinery.
• Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
• Understand current health and safety legislation.
• Experience working in a school environment.
• Ability to plan and prioritise workload and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine gardening and grounds maintenance of lawns, borders, hedges and playing surfaces.
• Create, mark out and set up playing surfaces for lessons and matches.
• Ensure safe use of equipment and machinery and report defects.
• Inform manager of necessary corrective actions on equipment.
• Observe Health and Safety policies and procedures.
