Job summary

Sapientia Education Trust seeks a Finance Officer to join the Beccles High School finance team. The role covers processing invoices, reconciliations and queries, with a focus on school-wide financial operations across trust schools.

The post supports training (e.g. AAT) and requires strong teamwork, clear communication, and resilience. Part-time 26.25 hours weekly, based at Beccles High School, starting 1 January 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a busy finance environment.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4-9; AAT qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for finance queries for relevant school(s).
• Process school invoices and ensure correct expenditure authorisation.
• Reconcile supplier statements and accounts; manage school bank accounts and petty cash.
• Raise school sales invoices and manage online payment system (ParentPay/WisePay).
• Support budget holders in costing and managing school funds and fund recharges.
