Job summary

Preston School in Yeovil is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join the site team. You will maintain classrooms, offices and communal spaces to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

Working 15 hours per week during term time plus 5 weeks, with shifts 14:00–17:00 or 15:00–18:00, you will contribute to a safe, welcoming learning environment for students and staff. Salary Grade 1 (Points 3-4) plus progression and COSHH compliance training are included.

Qualifications

• Punctual and professional; maintain high standards of conduct and dress.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety practices and school cleaning standards.
• Comfort with basic technology for digital reporting or training systems.
• Commitment to safeguarding welfare of our students.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of classrooms, offices and communal spaces.
• Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing and window cleaning.
• Sanitizing high-touch surfaces and replenishing consumables.
• Waste management and safe disposal of rubbish.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely in line with COSHH.
• Report damages or hazards to Site Manager promptly.
• Participate in periodic deep cleaning during holidays.
