Preston School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our site team. You will ensure that classrooms, offices, and communal spaces are maintained to an exceptional standard of cleanliness and hygiene, supporting a safe, pleasant, and thriving learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

Working under the Site Manager, you will perform daily cleaning tasks, assist with deep cleaning during holidays, manage waste responsibly, and follow COSHH and health-and-safety

Responsibilities

• Daily Cleaning Operations: Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing, and internal window cleaning across classrooms, offices, corridors, and communal spaces.
• Hygiene & Safety: Sanitizing high-touch surfaces daily and replenishing consumables like soap and towels.
• Waste Management: Emptying waste bins and disposing of rubbish safely.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Operating equipment safely and following Wet Floor signage and chemical storage rules under COSHH regulations.
• Maintenance Support: Reporting damages or hazards to the Site Manager.
• Deep Cleaning: Assisting in periodic deep cleaning during holidays, e.g., carpet shampooing and floor buffing.
• Stock & Equipment Care: Maintaining equipment and monitoring stock levels; notifying when reorders are needed.

Working under the general supervision of our Site Manager, you will ensure that our classrooms, offices, and communal spaces are maintained to an exceptional standard of cleanliness and hygiene. Your work will directly contribute to a safe, pleasant, and thriving learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors.,

• Daily Cleaning Operations: Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing, and internal window cleaning across designated areas (classrooms, toilets, corridors, and halls).
• Hygiene & Safety: Sanitizing high-touch surfaces daily (desks, door handles, light switches) and replenishing essential consumables like soap and paper towels.
• Waste Management: Emptying waste bins and disposing of rubbish safely at external collection points.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Operating cleaning equipment safely, utilizing "Wet Floor" signage, and handling/storing chemicals strictly in line with COSHH regulations.
• Maintenance Support: Identifying and reporting any site damages or hazards immediately to the Site Manager.
• Deep Cleaning: Participating in periodic deep cleaning programmes, such as carpet shampooing and floor buffing, typically during school holiday periods.
• Stock & Equipment Care: Keeping cleaning equipment in good working order and monitoring stock levels to notify supervisors when reorders are needed.Show a commitment to implementing the vision and values of Preston School.
• Be punctual, professional, and maintain high standards of conduct and dress.
• Possess a strong working knowledge-or willingness to learn-of health and safety practices and school cleaning standards.
• Be comfortable using basic technology for digital reporting or training systems.
