Job summary

Vertas is seeking a dedicated Caretaker based at Dunham on Trent C of E Primary School. The role is 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 08:00, for 43 weeks per year, combining 1.5 hours of caretaking with 0.5 hours of cleaning daily.

You will keep the premises safe, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will have caretaking or cleaning experience, be proactive, with good health & safety awareness and reliable time management to support a growing school

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking, site management or cleaning experience is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Good communication and problem solving skills.
• An understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school premises.
• Carrying out routine health and safety checks.
• Undertaking basic maintenance and repair tasks.
• Monitoring the condition of the building and grounds.
• Supporting contractors and site visitors when required.
• Completing daily cleaning duties across designated areas.
• Ensuring the school site remains clean, safe and welcoming.
