Job summary

Portland Vets Crawley is recruiting a part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our 6.2 FTE RVN team at the Crawley branch. You will provide high-standard nursing care, monitor anaesthesia, support in-patient care, and run nurse consultations in a modern facility.

The role offers 24 hours per week across 3 shifts, weekend rotations with enhanced compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package including CPD support and paid RCVS/VDS memberships.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with up-to-date RCVS registration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Organised and able to multitask while maintaining care standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to inpatients, including monitoring and health checks.
• Confidently handle and restrain animals and assist with examinations.
• Administer treatments, injections, fluids and medications per protocol.
• Monitor anaesthesia and assist vets with surgical procedures.
• Run nurse consultations and educate clients on care and costs.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure correct billing.
