Job summary

MCS are seeking to appoint a part-time Rowing Coach to join as soon as possible and to continue throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. The role involves coaching across Key Stages 8–13 within a leading independent school.

The successful candidate will demonstrate safeguarding commitment, coaching experience at a high level, excellent communication, IT competencies and a collaborative, detail‑oriented approach. Driving licence is advantageous for minibus/trailer duties.

Qualifications

• Must have clear safeguarding commitment.
• Qualified rowing coach with high-level coaching experience.
• Experience coaching rowing or coaching at a high level.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Sound IT skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• High level of organisation and attention to detail.
• Willingness to undertake continuing professional development (CPD).
• Responsive to feedback and constructive in approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging rowing sessions from Year 8 to Year 13 (focus on Years 11–13).
• Demonstrate strong organisation and commitment to excellence in sport and widening participation.
• Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff and the local community.
• Promote sport as part of the thriving extracurricular provision.
• Maintain a positive, cheerful, caring attitude and support colleagues with sports teams.
• Possess a full, clean driving license and willingness to drive minibuses/trailers.
