Job summary

The University of Reading invites applications for a part-time Research Assistant to support the ERC project PPADEM in Africa. You will join an international team, helping to build and analyse cross-national data on political parties, with opportunities to present at workshops and publish in leading journals.

Responsibilities

• Collect, code, enter, check and clean country and organizational level data on African political parties.
• Identify and code features of elite-level party representatives (demographic backgrounds, social media presence).
• Assist in preparation of research instruments for party HQ and branch studies, and constituency elite survey.
• Analyse citizen and expert survey data (e.g. Afrobarometer and V-Party).
• Assist with organisation of project events such as planning meetings and research seminars.
• Support project website, and manuscript preparation and publication activities.
