Job summary

Manchester Metropolitan University invites applications for a Research Assistant position to support the PACE project, a collaboration with The Insights Family. The role involves academic research, data collection and analysis, stakeholder engagement, interviews, reporting and recommendations.

Based at MMU with occasional travel to The Insights Family in Manchester City Centre. Open to current Manchester Met students in the UK, the role runs from 2 November to 22 December.

Qualifications

• Honours qualification (or equivalent) in marketing, digital marketing, or related field, OR with a focus on Data Analytics or Information Technology.
• Ability to undertake research by preparing, setting up, conducting and recording the outcome of experiments and/or field work.
• Ability to use initiative, creativity and judgement to develop appropriate approaches in order to further research.
• Sufficient breadth or depth of knowledge to work within an established research team.
• Experience of data collection.
• Experience of presenting and communicating complex information to a range of audiences, both orally and in writing.
• Experience of prioritising work independently and as part of a team in order to deliver individual and team objectives.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritise work within the research project framework to achieve objectives.
• Conduct literature and database searches using standard techniques and methods.
• Write up results and prepare for presentation to research team and stakeholders.
• Contribute to production of research reports and publications.
• Develop techniques to facilitate research and resolve deadlines issues.
• Deliver academic research and analyse data to support system design for personalisation.
• Review and refine Python code and JavaScript schemas if capable.
• Contribute to final project reporting and strategic planning.
• Present research to team and publish in journals or conferences.
• Engage with partnerships and networks to share findings and enhance university reputation.
• Ensure quality assurance procedures align with university standards.
• Collaborate on research development and future directions.
• Participate as a team member with other research students.
• Deliver analysis and reporting as part of broader project goals.
