Job summary

Chalfont St Peter Veterinary Practice is seeking a Part‑Time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a small animal team. You will provide nursing care, assist vets in theatre, and manage records while ensuring patient welfare and comfort.

Join a collaborative team with vets, nursing and reception staff, and a regional manager, with rotations including two bank holidays per year at Mandeville Hospital.

Qualifications

• RVN registration with the UK governing body.
• Experience in small animal practice preferred.
• Ability to maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Responsibilities

VA620 – Part‑Time Registered Veterinary Nurse

Location: Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. Part‑time, 26.13 hours per week, split over three days with a 1:3 branch Saturday and a 1:10 hospital Sunday rotation. No on‑call duties.

Collaborate with three vets, nursing and reception staff, and a regional manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care and continually improve standards.
• Assist the veterinarian in theatre and during consultations as required.
• Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalization records and accurate documentation of hospitalized patients.
• Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets.
• Keep equipment clean, sterilised, and properly stored.
• Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets, consumables, and place orders with suppliers to required levels.
• Assist with induction and training of new staff.
• Perform reception duties, handling client interactions in person, by email and telephone.
• Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor.

Schedule & Rotation

Rotations include two bank holidays per year at Mandeville Hospital. Hospital services include a 24‑hour facility with advanced diagnostics.
