Key duties and responsibilities

• Ensure the provision of a high-quality and continually improving standard of nursing care.
• Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as and when required.
• Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records.
• Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care.
• Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients.
• Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised, and stored correctly when not in use.
• Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets, and consumables and place orders with suppliers as required.
• Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training.
• Provide reception duties, as required, ensuring a friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets.
• Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor.

Skills and experience

• Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification.

This role offers a competitive salary band of £32,000 to £36,000 per annum (based on 40 hours FTE), pro-rated for the 20-hour work week. The salary band is part of the main contract.
