Job summary

Halmer Recruit is seeking a part-time Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Payable Assistant in Farnborough to cover a temporary assignment through December 2026.

The role involves processing invoices, coding to the ledger, supplier queries, and supporting the AP process as the team implements new accounting software.

Immediate start is preferred, with a handover planned to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of finance operations.

Qualifications

• Previous Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable experience.
• Confident processing invoices and resolving supplier queries.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Coding and posting invoices onto the accounting system.
• Maintaining accurate Purchase Ledger records.
• Supporting the end-to-end Accounts Payable process.
• Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding queries.
• Supporting supplier payment runs.
• Processing credit card transactions.
• Assisting with reconciliations.
• Processing expenses.
• Checking supplier statements and resolving outstanding queries.
• Supporting basic credit control activities where required.
• Providing general support to the wider finance team.
• Supporting the team during the implementation of the new accounting software.
