Job summary

Alexander James Recruitment is seeking a Public Relations Executive for a part-time, hybrid role in London. You will own media relations and earned media activity, working closely with the MD to identify newsworthy stories and secure coverage across national, business, and trade outlets.

The role is hands-on with autonomy to shape PR activity and deliver visible results for a well-established professional services firm. 3 days per week in the London office, with flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience in public relations and media relations.
• Proven success in securing media coverage.
• Confident writer with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with journalists.
• Proactive, organized and capable of working independently.
• Strong news sense and ability to generate story ideas.

Responsibilities

• Identify newsworthy stories and feature opportunities.
• Pitch stories, comments and expert insights to journalists.
• Write press releases, articles and PR content.
• Build and maintain strong media relationships.
• Secure high-quality coverage across national, business and trade media.
• Monitor media activity and industry developments.
• Support wider marketing objectives and raise brand awareness.
