Job summary

Alexander James Recruitment Ltd in London is seeking an experienced Public Relations Executive to take ownership of media relations for a well-established professional services business. This part-time role (3 days per week) offers genuine autonomy and the chance to shape PR activity.

Based in our London office with hybrid working, you will identify news, pitch to journalists, write releases, and secure national, business and trade coverage while reporting to the Managing Director.

Are you a PR professional who loves securing media coverage and wants the flexibility of a part-time role?

We're looking for an experienced Public Relations Executive to take ownership of media relations and earned media activity for a well-established professional services business. Working closely with the Managing Director, you'll identify newsworthy stories, build relationships with journalists and generate high-quality coverage across national, business and trade media.

This is a hands-on role with genuine autonomy, offering the opportunity to shape PR activity and deliver visible results.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

• Identifying and developing compelling news stories and feature opportunities
• Pitching stories, comments and expert insight to journalists
• Writing press releases, articles and other PR content
• Building and maintaining strong media relationships
• Securing high-quality coverage across relevant publications
• Monitoring media activity and industry developments
• Helping raise brand awareness and support wider marketing objectives

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience in public relations
• Can demonstrate success in securing media coverage
• Is a confident writer with excellent communication skills
• Enjoys building relationships with journalists
• Is proactive, organised and capable of working independently
• Brings fresh ideas and a strong news sense

Experience within B2B, professional services, business, property or commercial sectors would be advantageous, but is not essential.
