Part Time Police Custody Nurse or Paramedic

Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated nurses or paramedics to provide healthcare services within police custody settings. This role offers opportunities for career development, extensive training, and a supportive team environment.

Benefits
  • Salary: £20,500 per year
  • £500 bonus upon completing 12 months of service
  • Part-time fixed shifts: Day shifts (06:45-19:00), Night shifts (18:45-07:00), on a rota pattern of 2 days, 8 days off, 2 nights, 4 days off. Rota planned 2 years in advance.
  • Estimated overtime: £3,500 annually
  • Paid NMC/HCPC registration
Requirements
  • RN, RGN, or RMN with dual registration: minimum 2 years post-qualification (Band 5 or above)
  • Paramedic: minimum 2 years post-qualification
  • At least 2 years of patient-facing experience in relevant fields (e.g., A&E, emergency medicine, general practice, substance misuse, prison healthcare, ambulance service)
  • Driving license (required)
  • UK right to work, British passport or ILR for 3+ years, with no gaps exceeding 3 months outside the UK
  • All candidates will undergo police vetting
Role Details

This role involves delivering healthcare in custody suites, supporting detainee safety, and working across various locations within the police custody system. Full training in forensic procedures will be provided, no prior forensic experience necessary.
