Job summary

Havant and South Downs College invites applications for a Photography Technician to support staff and students in photography. The role focuses on running the daily learning environment, equipment and teaching resources, and supervising designated learning areas.

The position is part-time at 10 hours per week across 36 weeks, with required Level 2 qualification or relevant industry experience plus a technical qualification in the subject.

Qualifications

• Curriculum knowledge related to photography or media studies.
• Health and safety awareness and compliance in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Run the daily operation of the learning environment, equipment and teaching resources.
• Supervise designated learning areas.
• Organise daily activities, including preparing teaching resources and housekeeping.
• Assist individual students or groups within the learning environment.
• For some departments, run work placements and instruct or direct students.
• Take part in course review and in creating and carrying out new resources and action plans.
• Implement and maintain the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and related legislation.
• Distribute and collect tools daily, where applicable.
