Elysium Healthcare Limited is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support medication management at Farmfield Hospital in Surrey. This part-time role (22.5 hours per week) involves coordinating with the GP service, MDT, and the external pharmacy provider to ensure medicines are ordered, received, stored securely, and compliant with GPhC standards.

Qualifications

• GPhC registration is required.
• Minimum of two years of supervised, practical experience in a pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

• Work with GP service, MDT and pharmacy provider to ensure medications are ordered and received on site promptly.
• Act on safety alerts to prioritise service user safety.
• Ensure safe storage of medications in collaboration with nursing teams.
• Contribute to clinical governance and policy changes via formal forums.
• Maintain professional registration with the GPhC and ensure accreditations meet GPhC guidance.
• Escalate quality concerns or incidents per company policy.
• Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to support service development.
• Monitor controlled drugs and report inaccuracies to the accountable officer.
• Act as the local clozapine coordinator ensuring monitoring and timely supply.

Join our team at Farmfield Hospital and play a vital role in supporting service users and the multidisciplinary team while ensuring compliance with company procedures and best practice standards. This is a part-time position for 22.5 hours per week. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference by driving excellence in medication management and contributing to the wellbeing of people with mental health needs. In this role, you will work alongside the GP service, nursing teams and our pharmacy provider to ensure medications are ordered and received on site in a timely manner. You will act on safety alerts, maintain secure and storage of medications. Your responsibilities will include contributing to clinical governance, participating in audits and liaising with pharmacy and nursing staff to continuously improve service delivery. You will provide visibility and support
across departments, ensuring both clinical and non-clinical teams have access to pharmacy expertise throughout the working week. Escalating quality concerns, maintaining professional standards, and ensuring compliance with GPhC guidance will be central to your role and also support service development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside the GP service, Multidisciplinary Team and identified pharmacy provider to ensure medications are ordered and received on site in a timely manner.
• Act on any safety alerts provided by the wider company to ensure service user safety is prioritised.
• Ensure safe storage of medications in collaboration with nursing teams.
• Contribute to clinical governance, ensuring any change to practice or local policy is directed through this forum.
• Maintain professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Ensure professional accreditations are maintained in line with GPhC guidance.
• Escalate any quality concerns or incidents in line with company policy.
• Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
• Liaise with the pharmacy provider and nursing staff to support service development.
• Participate in audits to drive continuous improvement and service development.
• Monitor controlled drugs and drugs liable to misuse and report inaccuracies to the accountable officer.
• Act as the local clozapine coordinator for maintaining registrations, ensuring monitoring requirements are completed and ensuring timely supply.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• GPhC Registration.
• Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians (or a BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences).
• A minimum of two years of supervised, practical experience in a pharmacy setting.
